Here’s how to participate:
1. Make your plan and bring your friends or make new friends!
2. Show up at one of the rental or public docks on Town Lake and launch by 11:00 AM this Saturday, Oct. 23.
- Zilker Park Boat Rentals on Barton Creek just below Barton Springs pool
- Texas Rowing Center by Austin High School
- The Rowing Dock just west of Mopac
- Elite SUPs rental office on E. Riverside Drive, dock by International Hostel
- Austin High Public Boat Launch by Austin High School
- East Austin Public Boat Launch by Fiesta Gardens
Bring water to stay hydrated, sun protection, and a snack.
If you’d like to participate from the shore, come to Lou Neff Point Gazebo anytime between 10:30-Noon. RIDE A BIKE. TAKE A BUS. OR, ALLOW TIME FOR PARKING: Currently, Zilker Lou Neff Road is fenced off as workers continue to clean up after ACL. 1. There is parking on Toomey Road across the street from Casa de Luz, 1701 Toomey Rd, Austin, TX 78704. From there, walk to the end of Toomey Rd. Proceed through the bamboo using one of two dirt trails down the little bluff to the main Hike & Bike Trail and turn left. Cross the Barton Creek pedestrian bridge and turn right. Walk down the Hike & Bike Trail toward where Barton Creek flows into the Colorado River and find Lou Neff Point gazebo near where the ducks and turtles like to hang out.
2. Alternatively, you can park in Zilker Park near the Zilker Park Boat Rentals.
Turn off Barton Springs toward Barton Springs Pool. Take an immediate left into the lots on the left, proceed to the furthest lots, by the pecan grove picnic grounds closest to Barton Springs Road. Walk along the little railroad track toward Barton Springs Road and cross under it on the board walk to join the main Hike & Bike Trail. Continue straight to Lou Neff Point.
3. In a boat or Stand UP? Paddle out to the middle of Town Lake just off Lou Neff point where Barton Creek flows into the Colorado River – follow the music! See map below.
